SUV Driver Critical, “Sideswiped” by Transport Truck on Hwy. 401 in Etobicoke
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious 2-vehicle collision on the westbound Highway 401 exit ramp to Highway 427 in Etobicoke on July 1, 2026.

What Happened?
- Emergency crews responded to the crash site — involving a white SUV and a transport truck — before 5:15am on July 1.
- According to OPP, the transport truck “sideswiped” the white SUV, which caused the vehicle to lose control.
- The driver of the SUV and their passenger were taken to hospital. The driver’s injuries are considered life-threatening.
