A pickup truck driver is fighting for his life in hospital following a high‑speed racing incident on Highway 401 in Mississauga on May 31, 2026.

• The incident took place in the westbound express lanes of the highway just west of Renforth Drive around 12pm ET on May 31.
• According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), a pickup truck towing a trailer pulled onto the shoulder to check his load. He was then struck by 2 BMWs aggressively racing.
• The pickup truck driver was rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition.
