Fatal single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 400 in Parry Sound
Incident details
A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 400 southbound near Parry Sound, Ontario, earlier this morning. The Ontario Ministry of Transportation reported that the incident led to a full closure of the southbound lanes between exits 229 and 217, starting at 7:20 a.m.
Tragically, one person lost their life in the crash.

Investigation updates
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. As of now, no details have been provided regarding the cause of the accident.
- Motorists traveling southbound on Highway 69/400 north of Parry Sound are advised to exit at Parry Sound Drive or Hall’s Quarry Road. They should then proceed through Parry Sound to Oastler Park Drive to continue southbound. The OPP has confirmed that all northbound lanes remain open.
- There is currently no estimated time for reopening the southbound lanes.
