Woman Dead, Struck by Vehicle on Hwy. 401 Near Rideau Heights in Kingston
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 401 near Kingston’s Rideau Heights neighbourhood on July 8, 2026.

What Happened?
- The incident took place in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 around Division Street shortly after 7pm ET on July 8.
- According to officials, the driver of a vehicle — a 56-year-old woman — struck the centre median of the highway. Following the collision, she stepped out of the vehicle and was struck by a passing vehicle.
- The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear if the vehicle that struck the individual remained at the scene.

The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation.
