Fatal crash on Hwy. 101 near Timmins: One dead, another critically injured
Incident details
A fatal collision occurred on Highway 101 west of Timmins Wednesday afternoon, involving a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle. OPP say the incident happened around 3 p.m. in Keith Township, east of Foleyet.
A 38-year-old individual from Chapleau tragically lost their life at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
Investigation updates
The OPP, along with their Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team, is actively investigating the crash. As of Thursday morning, Highway 101 remained closed at Nova Road between Foleyet and Highway 144. A detour was available for passenger vehicles through Nova Road.
