Fatal bicycle collision on McLeod Road in Niagara Falls claims life of passenger

A tragic collision on McLeod Road in Niagara Falls has resulted in the death of a 36-year-old female passenger on a bicycle. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. between Alex Avenue and Drummond Road.

Victim information
- The woman, who was seated in a wagon attached to the bicycle, was found in critical condition by emergency responders and was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The victim was a resident of Niagara Falls.
- The operator of the bicycle, a 30-year-old man from Niagara Falls, sustained serious injuries and was also taken to a local hospital.
- The driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old woman from Thorold, was driving a black 2010 Acura ZDX and was not injured in the crash.
Investigation updates
A portion of McLeod Road was closed for several hours following the accident to allow for an investigation by authorities. The road has since been reopened. Detectives from the Niagara Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit, along with the Forensic Services Unit, are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
