Essa Road Crash: 26-year-old sustains serious head injury in Barrie collision

Barrie, ON – Early Monday morning, a single-vehicle collision occurred on Essa Road near Salem Road in Barrie. The incident was reported to city police at 5:03 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a vehicle had left the road and overturned in a heavily wooded area.

Victim Information

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He sustained a serious head injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Police have determined that the collision happened at approximately 2 a.m.

• The vehicle, identified as a white-coloured Jeep, was traveling northbound on Essa Road when the driver lost control.
• The area was closed for several hours for investigation but has since reopened.
