Driver rushed to hospital following serious Hwy. 401 crash in Cambridge

One driver has been rushed to hospital following a serious crash on highway 401 in Cambridge.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) posted on X that the westbound lanes of the highway were closed west of Homer Watson Blvd.
SERIOUS COLLISION:
Hwy 401 W/B, west of Homer Watson Blvd #Cambridge. One driver was transported to a trauma center with potentially life-altering injuries. All W/B lanes are closed at Homer Watson Blvd for investigation. In a follow-up post on X at 12:29 p.m. ET, OPP said all westbound lanes had reopened.
Investigation updates
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Officials are asking anyone with information, including dashcam footage of the incident, to contact them.
