Driver rushed to hospital after 5-vehicle QEW collision in Oakville
Incident details
A driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a five-vehicle collision on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in Oakville.
- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the rush-hour crash took place in the Toronto-bound lanes just before Third Line on Oct. 22.
- Footage of the scene shows a transport truck on its side. Emergency crews had to empty the truck before turning it upright.
- Officials removed propane tanks from the truck. It’s unclear if the tanks were empty.
- OPP didn’t disclose if the injured driver was the operator of the truck. No other injuries were reported.

Investigation updates
The cause of the multi-vehicle crash remains under investigation. OPP say charges are pending.
