Driver, 41, arrested following back-to-back collisions in North Bay

Incident details
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a driver following back-to-back collisions in North Bay.
- Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 11 and Seymour Street around 5:15 p.m. ET on March 5.
- Officials said in a news release that one of the drivers left the scene before police arrived.
- Approximately 45 minutes later, the North Bay Police Service received a call for a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Booth Road and Massey Drive.
- OPP found a vehicle in a ditch and confirmed it was the vehicle that left the earlier collision at Highway 11 and Seymour Street.
- While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old from Callander, officers observed signs of impairment. The individual was arrested and transported to a local police detachment for further testing.
- No significant injuries were reported in either collision.
Investigation updates
After seizing what OPP suspected to be fentanyl, the 41-year-old motorist was charged with impaired driving, failure to remain at a collision, and drug possession.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on April 1.
