Cisco Cutting Nearly 4,000 Jobs in 2026, Looking to “Win in the AI Era”
Is Cisco Cutting Jobs in 2026?
Yes — Cisco Systems (Cisco) is planning to eliminate nearly 4,000 jobs, or around 5% of its global workforce, in 2026.
CEO Chuck Robbins said in a blog post on the tech giant’s website that most of the affected staffers will be notified on May 14.
“The companies that will win in the AI era will be those with focus, urgency, and the discipline to continuously shift investment toward the areas where demand and long-term value creation are strongest,” the blog post reads.
Impact on Canadian Staff
It remains unclear if Canadian employees at Cisco are being let go.
According to LinkedIn, the company currently has more than 2,200 workers in the country.
