Many Canadians are concerned after receiving a letter from the CRA that they will have to pay back money received through the CERB program. What options do Canadians have if they cannot pay the money back?

Toronto employment lawyer and partner Lior Samfiru joins Mike Smyth on CKNW to answer this question.

The rules in order to apply for CERB were unclear and many Canadians applied for CERB believing they were able to qualify. Many employees who were also asked to return to work by their employers after the initial lockdown was removed, refused to do so and remained on CERB. Canadians who applied for CERB in good faith will hopefully not be penalized.
