Booking Holdings Layoffs: Restructuring ‘expected’ to include job cuts
What’s going on at Booking Holdings?
Booking Holdings, the parent company of Booking.com, is planning to trim its headcount as it restructures its business.
“[We intend to] implement certain organizational changes, including modernizing processes and systems, an expected workforce reduction, optimizing procurement, and seeking real estate savings,” the online travel agency said in a recent regulatory filing.
“We believe these efforts will improve operating expense efficiency, increase organizational agility, free up resources that can be reinvested into further improving our offering to both travellers and partners, and better position [us] for the long term.”
A spokesperson for Booking Holdings told Reuters that Booking.com is specifically under review and not the company’s other brands, such as Kayak, OpenTable, Priceline, and Agoda.

Your rights
In Canada, non-unionized employees at Booking Holdings and Booking.com are entitled to full severance pay when they lose their jobs due to downsizing, corporate restructuring, or the closure of the business.
