Driver arrested following 2-vehicle Hwy. 400 crash in North York

Incident details
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 400 in North York.
- The incident took place in the southbound lanes of the highway approaching Highway 401 before 7:30 a.m. ET on March 3.
- OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) that four right lanes were temporarily closed for the crash.
- Footage of the scene shows a grey-coloured vehicle with significant front-end damage being hooked up to a tow truck.
- One of the drivers was taken to hospital. The severity of their injuries wasn’t disclosed.

Investigation updates
Schmidt said the driver taken to hospital has been arrested and charged with impaired driving.
