2 people critical after vehicle collides with Pickering bus shelter

Incident details

Durham police posted on X (formerly Twitter) that two people are in critical condition after a vehicle collided with a bus shelter in Pickering.

“Kingston Road between Brock Road and Valleyfarm Road in Pickering is shut down,” the April 16 post reads.

“Two people have been transported to Toronto-area trauma centres in life-threatening condition. Ornge is attending the area and will be landing on [Highway 401] near Whites Road. Traffic disruptions will occur during this time.”

Officials didn’t clarify if one of the people in critical condition is the driver of the vehicle that collided with the bus shelter.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
