11-year-old girl critically injured in Hamilton north end car accident
Incident details
An 11-year-old girl sustained life-altering injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Hamilton’s North End on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. near the intersection of Emerald and Keith Streets.
According to Hamilton police, a man in his 60s was driving a blue Ford Mustang when he proceeded through the intersection and hit the young pedestrian, pinning her against a building.

The young girl was transported to the hospital by paramedics, where she remains in stable condition. However, the injuries she sustained are considered life-altering.
The driver, a man in his 60s, was also taken to the hospital. His injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
Investigation updates
Hamilton police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. As part of the investigation, a portion of Emerald Street North and Keith Street was temporarily closed but has since been reopened to traffic. No charges have been announced as of yet, and police are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward to assist with the investigation.
