9-Year-Old Cyclist Dead Following School Bus Collision West of Ottawa

Incident Details
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision involving a child riding a bicycle and a school bus in Almonte — a town west of Ottawa.
- The incident took place on Paterson Street near Holy Name of Mary Catholic School and R Tait McKenzie Public School before 4pm ET on June 25.
- Emergency crews rushed the cyclist, a 9-year-old boy from Mississippi Mills Township, to hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead.
- Paterson Street reopened at approximately 8:25pm ET on June 25.
Investigation Updates
The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
