Driver hospitalized after single-vehicle Hwy. 417 crash in Ottawa

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious single-vehicle collision on Highway 417 in Ottawa.

• Just after 1 p.m. ET on April 16, officials posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the incident took place in the westbound lanes of the highway near Parkdale Avenue.
• OPP told the Ottawa Citizen that first responders had to remove the driver from the vehicle, who was then transported to hospital.
• The severity of the driver’s injuries weren’t disclosed. It’s unclear if other people were in the vehicle at the time.
• Westbound lanes of Highway 417 around Parkdale Avenue fully reopened just after 2 p.m. ET.
