Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision involving a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian near Cherry Hill Shopping Centre in Fergus, north of Guelph.
- The incident took place at the intersection of Belsyde Avenue and Tower Street South at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET on March 5.
- OPP said in a release that a pedestrian was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
- No injuries were reported for the driver of the tractor-trailer.
- The intersection of Belsyde Avenue and Tower Street South was closed for several hours.

The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
