Man dead after SUV, tractor-trailer collide southwest of Carleton Place

Incident details
The driver of an SUV is dead following a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer on Highway 7 near Innisville, southwest of Carleton Place.
- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the incident took place in the eastbound lanes of the highway, near White Road, just after 5 p.m. ET on March 5.
- Officials say an SUV, travelling westbound, entered the eastbound lanes and collided with a tractor-trailer.
- The sole occupant of the SUV, a 41-year-old man from Ottawa, was pronounced dead at the scene.
- The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn’t seriously injured.
- In an update before 1p.m. ET, OPP said all lanes on Highway 7 reopened.

Investigation updates
The cause of the fatal head-on collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
