Driver dead after single-vehicle Hwy. 407 rollover in Markham

Incident details
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle rollover on Highway 407 in Markham.
- The incident took place in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Warden Avenue just after 10 a.m. ET on Feb. 27. Traffic was forced off the highway at Woodbine Avenue.
- A photo of the scene shows a grey vehicle on its roof — resting on the other side of the guard rail. A white cover was placed over the rear of the vehicle.
- The sole occupant of the vehicle was rushed to hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
- Highway 407 was temporarily closed between Highway 404 and Warden Avenue.
Investigation updates
The cause of the fatal single-vehicle rollover remains under investigation.
Anyone with information on the incident, including cellphone or dashcam footage, is asked to contact the OPP.
