Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Highway 401 in Milton.

• Officials said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the incident took place in the westbound lanes of the highway around the Tremain Road overpass at approximately 7:40 p.m. ET on Feb. 26.
• The severity of the pedestrian’s injuries — a 21-year-old woman from Milton — wasn’t disclosed.
• OPP said the woman was accompanied by a “22-year-old companion.” No injuries were reported for the companion.
• Investigators didn’t specify if the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
