3 hurt after Honda collides with MTO truck on Hwy. 401 in Scarborough

Incident details
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a crash involving a black Honda Civic and a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) pickup truck on Highway 401 in Scarborough.
The incident took place in the westbound collector lanes of the highway approaching Morningside Avenue before 2 a.m. ET on Feb. 23.
- OPP said a black Honda Civic carrying three men collided with an MTO pickup truck that was parked in the right westbound lane. The vehicle and an MTO blocker truck were protecting crews that were responding to an earlier collision.
- All three men in the black Honda Civic were taken to hospital — one of them with critical injuries.
- The driver of the MTO pickup truck wasn’t in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The driver of the MTO blocker truck beside the pickup truck didn’t sustain any injuries.
- This stretch of Highway 401 was temporarily closed following the collision.

Investigation updates
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
