Transport truck driver critical following Hwy. 417 crash in Kanata
Incident details
The driver of a transport truck has been rushed to hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 417 in Ottawa’s Kanata neighbourhood.
- The incident took place in the westbound lanes of the highway between Huntmar Drive and Palladium Drive in the afternoon on Feb. 4.
- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) posted a photo on X (formerly Twitter) showing that the transport truck had collided with the median.
- Officials said the driver of the transport truck is in critical condition.
- All of the affected lanes on Highway 417 reopened before midnight on Feb. 4.

The cause of the single-vehicle collision remains under investigation.
