Driver dead after 3-vehicle crash near Clifford, Tesla allegedly involved

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision near Clifford.
The incident reportedly took place on Highway 9, just south of the town, at approximately 7:25 a.m. ET on Dec. 2.
- Two SUVs and a tractor-trailer were involved in the crash.
- OPP said one of the drivers, a 52-year-old from Etobicoke, was pronounced dead at the scene.
- No other deaths or injuries were reported.
- This stretch of Highway 9 was temporarily closed for the investigation.

Samfiru Tumarkin LLP was contacted via email by an individual—alleging that the deceased driver was a lawyer operating a Tesla.
They claim that the vehicle burst into flames as a result of the crash, adding it took around 11 hours for emergency crews to identify the motorist.

The cause of the multi-vehicle collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
