Woman, 73, dead after minivan rips through South Windsor home
Incident details
A 73-year-old woman is dead after a minivan ripped through a home in South Windsor over the weekend.
- Windsor police posted on X (formerly Twitter) that emergency crews responded to “a residence in the 2800 block of Riviera Drive” before 3 p.m. ET on Dec. 8.
- “Upon arrival, officers discovered that a minivan had struck the front of the residence and exited through the rear of the house,” the post reads.
- Three people were in the residence at the time of the crash. Two of the occupants, which included a 73-year-old woman, were rushed to hospital.
- Unfortunately, the 73-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries and was later pronounced dead. The other occupant’s injuries aren’t considered to be life-threatening.
- As for the occupants of the minivan, the lone passenger was hurt in the crash. Their injuries also aren’t considered to be life-threatening.
- The 2800 block of Riviera Drive was closed for several hours.
Investigation updates
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
