Driver, 83, dead after striking hydro pole in Baysville
Incident details
An 83-year-old woman is dead after her vehicle collided with a hydro pole in Baysville, northeast of Bracebridge.
- The incident occurred in the area of Highway 117 and Brunel Road before 9:30 a.m. ET on Oct. 8.
- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the driver, from Huntsville, was the only occupant in the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
- Footage from CTV News Barrie shows a Honda CRV propped up on its front end — wedged between a tree, rock, and the hydro pole.
Investigation update
The cause of the single-vehicle collision remains under investigation.
OPP believe that road conditions were clear at the time of the incident.
