A female cyclist is in critical condition after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in Brampton. The incident occurred Wednesday evening around 8:55 p.m., as the cyclist crossed the northbound ramp to Highway 410 at Steeles Avenue. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirmed the vehicle involved fled the scene without stopping.

The cyclist, a woman believed to be in her mid-30s, was severely injured, suffering a head injury. Peel Regional Paramedic Services transported her to a trauma hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Investigation updates
OPP Constable Tim Dunnah announced that police are actively searching for the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. Officers are canvassing the area, seeking witnesses and surveillance footage that could help identify the vehicle involved. Dunnah urged drivers with dashcam footage from the area and time of the incident to review their recordings and report any relevant information.
