Fatal five-vehicle Hwy 401 crash in Mississauga claims motorcyclist

A fatal accident occurred on Highway 401 in Mississauga early Sunday morning, involving five vehicles, including a motorcycle. The crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the westbound express lanes, west of Dixie Road and east of the 403/410 interchange.

Victim information
Peel EMS confirmed that one man, a motorcyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics reported that several other individuals sustained minor injuries and were treated on site.
Investigation updates
- Police and emergency services were alerted to the scene at 12:50 a.m.
- Following the collision, the WB lanes of Highway 401 at Dixie Road, including the transfer to the collector lanes, were closed for several hours.
- The highway has since been reopened to traffic.
