Class action launched as Canadian families are denied travel refunds
Interview Summary
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many Canadian families to alter their travel plans, with most having to completely cancel trips. While some families were refunded the money spent through their travel insurance, a large percentage of families have not been properly compensated despite having purchased coverage.
In order to properly seek reimbursement for some cancelled trips, a class-action lawsuit has been filed against Arch Insurance. Toronto insurance lawyer at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP Sivan Tumarkin, as well as the lead plaintiff Carter Adnams, spoke with CTV’s Pat Foran for more clarification on the ongoing suit.
