1 Critical After 4-Vehicle Hwy. 401 Crash Near Toronto Premium Outlets
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious 4-vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Toronto Premium Outlets in Milton on June 29, 2026.

What Happened?
- The incident took place in the eastbound lanes of the highway at the express-collector split just east of James Snow Parkway before 5pm ET on June 29.
- OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in a video on X (formerly Twitter) that a vehicle tried to merge into the express lanes and crashed into the entry cushion.
- A photo of the scene shows significant damage to various vehicles, including a tractor trailer.
- The driver of the vehicle that collided with the entry cushion has been rushed to hospital in critical condition. A passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
- All eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at James Snow Parkway were temporarily closed.

Investigation Updates
The cause of the multi-vehicle collision remains under investigation. Officers are looking into reports of aggressive driving ahead of the crash.
