What’s Happening at Google?

A long-service Google engineer has been placed on leave and charged for allegedly using his access to confidential company information to make approximately $1.2 million through bets on Polymarket.

“Blockchain trading is transparent, traceable, and bad actors leave footprints,” a spokesperson for Polymarket told the BBC.

According to court documents, the individual’s most lucrative alleged wins were correctly predicting who would and wouldn’t be the most searched for person on Google in 2025.
