40-Year-Old Woman Dead, Struck by Vehicle on Hwy. 401 in Etobicoke
A 40-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 401 near Toronto Pearson International Airport in Etobicoke on May 15, 2026.

What Happened?
- The incident took place on the highway near Eglinton Avenue West around 11:45pm ET on May 15.
- According to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), a crash occurred between an SUV and a passenger vehicle. However, the driver of the SUV — a 40-year-old woman from Mississauga — was struck by a passing vehicle after exiting her vehicle.
- Emergency crews rushed the woman to hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was later pronounced dead.
- No other injuries have been reported at this time.
Investigation Updates
The cause of the fatal pedestrian collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
