Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) near Stoney Creek — a community in the city of Hamilton — on May 10, 2026

What Happened?
- The incident took place in the Fort Erie-bound lanes of the highway approaching Fruitland Road after midnight on May 10.
- According to OPP, the vehicle that struck the pedestrian — described as an elderly man — initially stopped. However, that vehicle may have been hit by a Honda, based on debris, that didn’t remain at the scene.
- Officials aren’t sure if the driver of the Honda is aware that their vehicle sustained damage.
