Is SAIT Cutting Jobs?

Yes — the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is reportedly eliminating 30 permanent faculty positions in 2026.

The bombshell update comes as the post-secondary institution grapples with a steep decline in international student enrolment, as well as a provincially-implemented 2% cap on increases in tuition and fees for domestic students.

The latest workforce reduction at SAIT was covered by multiple news outlets, including Global News.
