What’s Happening at Oracle?

Oracle is reportedly eliminating as many as 30,000 jobs in 2026 — with multiple Canadian workers contacting Samfiru Tumarkin LLP for a severance offer review.

While the workforce reduction seems to affect staff globally, many of the impacted individuals were with the tech giant’s cloud computing business.

Oracle executives recently told investors not to worry about its significant AI data centre spending because it’s “very good” at cost-cutting.

As of May 2025, Oracle employed a global workforce of roughly 162,000 people. Over 2,000 employees are located in Canada.
