1 Dead, 6 Hospitalized After Hwy. 8 Head-On Collision South of Cambridge
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal head-on collision on Highway 8 south of Cambridge on March 28, 2026.

What Happened?
- The incident took place in the westbound lanes of the highway around Safari Road just after 6:40am ET on March 28.
- According to OPP, 1 person was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was airlifted to hospital.
- 5 other individuals involved in the crash were taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
- Highway 8 was temporarily closed between Studiman Road and Sheffield Road.
Investigation Updates
The cause of the fatal head-on collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
