Peterborough County OPP say the crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Bensfort Road, just south of Base Line.
- Vehicle left the roadway and struck a hydro pole
- Hydro lines were downed, delaying initial access to the vehicle
- Hydro One attended the scene to manage the live wires
- The driver, a 66-year-old woman from Peterborough, was pronounced dead at the scene
- She was the sole occupant of the vehicle
