What Happened

Ontario Provincial Police responded at approximately 8:54 a.m. after reports of a collision in the southbound lanes of Highway 404 at 16th Avenue.

According to police:

• The 77‑year‑old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
• An SUV driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
• Highway 404 southbound lanes at 16th Avenue were closed but reopened around 2:30 p.m.

Police continue to ask anyone with information to come forward.
