Show Notes

  • Assessing damages after an accident with extensive injuries: The rules surrounding motor vehicle accident benefits and compensation from insurance companies, as a result, keeps changing in Ontario. General policies will pay claimants up to $400 per week for those who are unable to work in income replacement benefits. Individuals involved in car accidents are also owed compensation for whoever was responsible for causing the accident.
  • Failure to plead certain injuries and losses: Once a legal claim has begun against whoever was at fault for causing an accident, it is very important to look closely at what is written in the legal claim. The right disability lawyer needs to ensure all pertinent details are included in the legal claim, such as the severity of the injuries, i.e. traumatic brain injuries, damage to the spinal cord, etc.
  • Pleading a statement of claim: A pleading statement of claim is the initial document that outlines the injuries of an individual, what happened in the accident, the initial treatments, etc. This statement is written by the lawyer hired to represent a client.
  • Serious injury after a slip and fall accident: After an accident occurs, individuals must notify the city or business involved where they fell and sustained the injury. It is important to contact the correct legal representation within 10 days after the accident has occurred.
