My wife was terminated while on LTD. We hired an employment lawyer and we got her 45k in severance. The LTD insurance company got credit for that amount and my wife ended up getting nothing from the severance. Is there anything we could do?

My wife was in an accident 3 years ago and she suffered a head injury. She’s been off work on LTD for almost 2 years and was recently sent to see a doctor hired by the insurance company who then reported to the insurer that she could go back to work. She was a stockbroker and there’s no way she can do that job or any other job that can pay her anywhere close to what she made as a broker. Her LTD will end in September. Should we appeal the decision?
