Sydney Peister is a Licensed Paralegal at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP with the Labour and Employment Law practice group, serving clients across Ontario.
A fierce advocate, she assists employees and employers on a broad range of employment matters, including:
- Wrongful dismissals
- Constructive dismissals
- Employment contracts
- Workplace harassment and discrimination
- Human rights violations
Prior to joining Samfiru Tumarkin LLP in 2020, Sydney worked at several corporate organizations. During this time, she acquired a greater understanding of the “ins and outs” of business — allowing her to bring a different perspective into her legal practice.
Sydney is passionate about helping individuals in need. After volunteering at a Community Justice Program, she understood the necessity of equity and inclusion, especially in the legal field.
Sydney’s empathetic, respectful, and cost-effective approach ensures timely and effective resolutions for her clients.
Outside the office, she enjoys hanging out with loved ones and her dog, Bentley. When Sydney isn’t travelling the world, she’s staying active through hiking and fitness classes.

Education
Sydney completed the Accelerated Paralegal Graduate Certificate program at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario. Each semester, she was recognized as a top performer on the Dean’s List.
Prior to beginning her law career, Sydney attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Economics.
During her schooling, she also completed three rounds of co-op, which exposed her to the many facets of the corporate world.
