Ministry of Labour Allegedly Misleading on Severance
Employment Lawyer Lior Samfiru, partner at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, alleges that people answering the phones at the Ontario Ministry of Labour helpline are misleading the public about severance pay entitlements.
His law firm has launched a lawsuit against The Ministry of Labour, on behalf of two clients who where let go, or terminated without cause, from Trillium Screw,, a manufacturing company in Durham. They were laid off in June 2012.
Samfiru joined The John Oakley Show on Global News Radio 640 Toronto to explain why the lawsuit is an important one, and why any laid off employee needs to consult an employment lawyer at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP BEFORE signing any severance offer.
