Employment Law Show launches on Newstalk 1010 in Toronto

press release, media

Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, Canada’s most positively reviewed employment law firm, is proud to announce the launch of the Employment Law Show on Newstalk 1010 – Toronto’s source for breaking news, traffic and weather – starting Sunday, September 11.

Airing live on Sundays at 1 p.m. ET, the hour-long program features prominent Canadian employment lawyer Lior Samfiru, alongside veteran broadcaster John Scholes, as they take calls from listeners across Toronto, the GTA and Ontario, debunk popular employment law myths, and answer questions about workplace rights for non-unionized employees.

“This is a perfect opportunity for employees and employers across the province to educate themselves on both the common and elusive aspects of our employment laws, through one of the largest news/talk radio stations in the country,” said Samfiru, national co-managing partner at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP. “From severance pay to vacation pay, workplace harassment and wrongful dismissal, hundreds of thousands of listeners will learn about the rights they never knew they had.”

Show on CP24

This announcement follows the firm’s recent partnership with Bell Media on Ask a Lawyer, Canada’s only weekday TV show focusing on employment law. Airing Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. on CP24, the 30-minute experience provides millions of GTA viewers with legal insight and solutions to problems that develop in and around the workplace.

Disability Law Show

Newstalk 1010 is also home to the Disability Law Show, heard every Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. Hosted by disability lawyers James K. Fireman and Tamar Agopian, partners at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, the program is a lifeline for Canadians who are cut off or denied long-term disability payments, abandoned by their insurance provider, and legally owed compensation if their benefits are unfairly terminated.

Through programs like the Employment Law Show, Ask a Lawyer and other services like the Pocket Employment Lawyer and Severance Pay Calculator, Samfiru Tumarkin LLP continues to be Ontario’s leader on employment rights for employees.
