The driver of a sedan is dead following a head-on collision with a Calgary Transit bus.

Police say the incident took place at the intersection of 24th Street S.W. and Bridlecrest Way S.W. around 5:20 p.m. MT on Oct. 9.

• The sedan was reportedly heading southbound on 24th Street S.W. when it crossed into the path of the northbound bus.
• Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the driver of the sedan, a woman in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
• The driver of the Calgary Transit bus and their passengers weren’t injured.

The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
