Kyle is a lawyer with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment Law practice group in Ottawa. He provides sound advice and representation to both employees and employers in all areas of employment law. His practice includes wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, employment contracts, workplace and employee policies, human rights, and post-employment concerns such as severance packages, non-solicitation and non-competition agreements.
Having appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and at the Social Benefits Tribunal, Kyle is an experienced advocate. In addition, Kyle quickly and successfully resolves client matters through strong and effective negotiations. When he is not dealing with opposing parties, clients appreciate Kyle’s straightforward, down-to-earth approach to advising them on their employment law matters.
Kyle received his Juris Doctor (Law) degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. While attending Queen’s, Kyle advocated for clients as a case worker at Queen’s Legal Aid, a community legal clinic, and he was also a member of the Law School Admissions Committee. Prior to attending Queen’s, Kyle studied philosophy at the University of Ottawa and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree.
When he is not in the Ottawa office, Kyle enjoys travel, studying history and, most importantly, cheering on the Ottawa Senators.
