Jeanie Smith is an Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP's Employment and Labour Law practice group, working in our Vancouver office. She is a dedicated member of our legal team who works hard to ensure that our clients' rights take top priority in all aspects of the employment relationship.
Jeanie has worked on a wide variety of matters, including wrongful dismissals, constructive dismissals, harassment and human rights issues, and the negotiation of severance packages to ensure that her clients are receiving their proper entitlements.
After completing her undergrad at the University of Victoria, Jeanie interned at the BC Civil Liberties Association. During her third year of law school, she completed a term at the UVic Law Centre, where she represented clients in civil and criminal matters. Jeanie also completed a two-day wrongful dismissal trial in provincial court, as well as a criminal trial. She was also selected as the student assigned to the William Head Correctional Facility.
After working as an articling student for a leading law firm in Victoria, where she primarily focused on civil litigation (employment law, human rights, family law, tax litigation and commercial law) Jeanie chose to focus her skills exclusively on employment and labour law with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP.
